  CHANEL SS2011 COUTURE

  the chanel couture show this season was a decadent feast for the eyes with hand embroidery and accents that took well over 100’s of hours to make. the show was so beautiful in fact the seamstresses of the chanel atelier became teary eyed seeing their masterful creations walk the show. karl lagerfeld’s theme for this season were northern lights from europe and the illumination of the reflection of the clothes. i couldn’t help but feel though with the models walking in flats and no structure at all to the clothes they did feel a tad boyish. the couture jackets were shown over jeans, of couture caliber of course, and if you had the money to rock a chanel couture tweed jacket embellished with a million delicate sequence then why not wear it over something comfortable such as jeans?
